Egg tempera on wood
194 × 64 cm each
Series of 4
The work is created on four original doors from an old wardrobe, transformed into painted panels using egg yolk tempera: symbolic thresholds that open onto a visionary, feminine bestiary. Each panel is inhabited by an anthropomorphic hen embodying a gesture and a quality of the feminine: curious desire, vigilant strength, silent transgression, generative wisdom. The henhouse, recurring in my practice, is conceived as a matriarchal and resilient microcosm—a space of care, watchfulness, and incubation of possibilities. The ideal installation presents the panels suspended, with their raw backs facing the viewer: doors that reveal what is usually hidden. A threshold between reality and my imaginary.
