The Beauty and the Bane
This series aims to compel the observer to confront the ephemeral nature of aesthetics. The images, initially nude photographs taken by the artist himself, have been transformed in color, appearance, and texture through the use of oils and paints, creating unique and unrepeatable artworks. This thorough deconstruction challenges traditional aesthetic norms and serves as a powerful commentary on the superficiality with which we often perceive beauty. In this way, the project becomes a critique of image-centric society, highlighting how the concept of beauty can be easily manipulated and distorted by those who hold the power to define what is considered beautiful. It is an invitation to look beyond appearances, to find beauty in cracks and wounds, and to recognize that it is through its very destruction that beauty can be reborn and reveal its deepest essence.
La mia passione per la fotografia è nata oltre 40 anni fa, e da allora non ha mai smesso di crescere. Sono incantato dalla capacità di questa forma d'arte di catturare istanti fugaci della vita quotidiana, spesso invisibili agli occhi, e di trasmetterli in emozioni profonde. La ricerca è sempre stata al centro del mio percorso artistico e questo mi ha portato a sviluppare progetti di fotografia fine-art con l’obiettivo di raccontare e raccontarmi attraverso la potenza visiva delle immagini. Credo che la fotografia abbia il potere di farci vedere il mondo con occhi nuovi, di aiutarci a comprendere meglio noi stessi e la realtà che ci circonda. Spero che le mie opere possano suscitare riflessioni, ispirare nuove connessioni ed incoraggiare una visione più sensibile e consapevole del mondo. Nonostante i tanti anni di carriera, mi sento ancora come un bambino che gioca e si stupisce della bellezza attorno a sé: un inesauribile senso di curiosità, meraviglia ed entusiasmo che alimenta il mio amore per quest’arte e che persiste con il passare del tempo.
