solidified music
I believe that music is the mother of all arts. It's always been
faithful companion in my work, I always have my portraits
give birth listening to it.
It is evocative of thoughts and emotions, it allows you to feel.
With Baab I went from the urgency of time in my shots
stolen - from the firmness of the architecture and the slow gaze that
it follows.
I had the opportunity to contemplate, to see the music that lives inside
some buildings, the volumetric space has become composition, the
two-dimensional surface a kind of musical writing - every
forma evoked a sound image in me.
I slowed down my time, I stopped, I felt and I have
tried photographing music through concrete.
BAAB was born with the aim of investigating how music can
interact with the world outside it.
By combining it with other artistic disciplines it is possible, in fact,
see the same questions, the same research and the same
path.
From these assumptions, “Musica solidificata”, an album, takes shape
composed and recorded
in the spring of 2020, in which the survey on repetitiveness and
on sound as a tool for sculpting shapes and volumes in space
acoustic, generated the need for a comparison
multidisciplinary.
Hence the idea of accompanying the music collection with contributions
photographic, illustrative and textual.
The work therefore arises from a need for expression and
in parallel from a will to the meeting and it is undoubtedly
was influenced by the isolation experienced in that period.
“Musica solidificata” was made with acoustic drums
prepared and a synthesizer, applying and partly revisiting
some compositional methods of American minimalism of the years
Sixty.
Musical material often consists of just one cell
melodic, which is manipulated gradually through
permutation or phasing processes.
The musical material does not change. What changes is the way
you listen.

Sono sempre stata affascinata dalla fotografia e dal suo significato più classico, che per me è quello reportagistico; ho iniziato fotografando per strada, mi incuriosisce il mondo, il modo in cui le persone si muovono intorno a me ed il modo in cui io mi muovo intorno a loro. La fotografia è per me qualcosa che mi accade intorno, che riconosco e provo ad immortalare. Le mie immagini non sono costruite, io le osservo e loro mi trovano. Mi considero una fotografa in ascolto, un po’ come un reporter; leggo ed interpreto la realtà senza modificarla. ll mio è uno stile autoriale, molto intimo, naturale ed introspettivo. Non c'è esasperazione, ogni elemento è esattamente cosi com'è. le mie immagini raccontano e ti raccontano e mi raccontano. Il soggetto principale della mia ricerca artistica è la donna con le sue infinite sfumature. Come in un specchio, attraverso il corpo femminile ed i volti provo a mettermi a nudo, a scoprirmi e riscoprire me stessa. Le sessioni di scatto diventano viaggi introspettivi, emozionali, nei quali si creano connessioni, rapporti personali ed intimità condivise. Ognuno con la propria storia personale, ognuno con la propria verità. Io le intreccio con la mia, senza trucco e senza trucchi. La mia donna si muove nel mio mondo con estrema naturalezza , d’istinto ed io la “spio” , ascoltandone gli anfratti, i sotto pelle, provo a scovarne e narrarne la vulnerabilità, la sensualità, la delicatezza, la fragilità, l’emotività, la potenza, l’autenticità, la femminilità, la bellezza , che nient’altro è che l’accettazione di se, la consapevolezza di ciò che si è! Qualche anno fa ho provato a dare un nome a questo mio viaggio. “Tell me about myself” non é un progetto fotografico , è il mio occhio aperto sul mondo, è il mio cuore aperto sulla mia pelle, è il mio sentire!
