Iniuria
The “Iniuria” project came to light as a reaction to the resounding theft of seventeen pieces from Castelvecchio Museum in Verona, organized by an armed group on November the 19.th, 2015. Fortunately the paintings were found the very next year in Odessa, Ukraine, and came back to Italy several months later, after a long and careful negotiation.
The series of stolen paintings includes several masterpieces - amongst which we can find Mantegna, Pisanello, Rubens and Tintoretto – and represents a very important nucleus of the history and art of Verona. This is the reason why this unpleasent event becomes even more insulting for the cultural heritage of Castelvecchio in primis, and broadly for the whole Italian artistic patrimony.
This is where my reflection rises from, a “trauma”, the underwent injury that named the project in the first place. Through a huge deformation of the classic iconography of the stolen masterpieces, my works point to witness the humiliation experieced by the painting itself and the value it represents.
In this sense, the empty frameworks placed beside the paintings symbolize the physical absence the theft left, combined with the impossibility to retrieve something deeper, that is lost forever.

Attraverso la pittura intendo sviluppare una riflessione sull’Uomo, al fine di indagare le ragioni e gli effetti delle inquietudini che lo caratterizzano e ne travagliano la natura stessa.
Ho collaborato con gallerie in Italia e all’estero, tra le quali Zaion Gallery (Biella), Mondoromulo Arte Contemporanea (Castelvenere - BN), ISOLO17 (Verona), D.Gallery e CRAG (Torino), Galleria Pugliese Arte (Firenze), Galleria Il Castello (Trento), Anywhere Art Company (Napoli), Molesworth Gallery (Dublino, Irlanda).
Dopo l’esperienza alla 54° Biennale di Venezia (Padiglione Italia, Torino), nel 2013 sono stato invitato ad esporre al MART – Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, nell’ambito della mostra In risonanza. Istantanee di creatività nel cervello, a cura di Francesca Bacci e Gabriele Lorenzoni. Nel 2015 ho presentato il mio lavoro al St James Cavalier Centre di La Valletta (Malta) in occasione del progetto Afterselfie - beyond masks, a cura di Carolina Bortolotti. Nel 2019 ho vinto il Premio Residenza all’Artkeys Prize, grazie al quale l’anno successivo ho realizzato una personale nel Castello Angioino – Aragonese di Agropoli (SA). Nel 2022 sono stato selezionato tra i finalisti dell’Arte Laguna Prize 21-22, partecipando l'anno successivo alla mostra in Arsenale a Venezia.
A partire dal 2014 sono docente di pittura e disegno a Trento, città nella quale vivo e lavoro.
