A big iceberg – icelandscape (turquoise blue)

Ettore Pinelli’s research into the relationship between image and violence finds a symbolic–naturalistic extension in a series of works in which nature becomes a metaphor for precariousness and transformation. The subjects—melting icebergs, evanescent storms, and forests in flames—emerge from suspended surfaces, poised between appearance and dissolution. Stripped of any narrative dimension, these natural elements evoke a latent violence inscribed in processes of change and erasure.

Through a painting practice characterized by neutral tones, layering, and subtraction, Pinelli constructs an unstable landscape in which the fragility of nature mirrors that of the image and of the human condition.
