Aria dura per la finzione di uno scorcio urbano Doha – omaggio a Pollock

I realised the canvas with absolute freedom from any prerequisite or traditional shape, typical of the american painter’s action painting. In order to do that, I hit the canvas with very diluted colours, often using the technique of dripping too, obtaining random stratifications. Gesture, rhythm, repetition of the painting technique create an apparently chaotic tangle characterised by a feeling of fortuity, nonsense and violence on which I superimpose a sheet with a city painted in clear contrast, not only because of colour, but also because of shape. I only used primary colours (red, yellow and blue) and white on the canvas, whereas I used almost only black for the urban setting: this contrast suggests the feeling of a troubled, chaotic city, maybe even violent, in unstable equilibrium.
