Aria dura per la finzione di uno scorcio urbano New York – omaggio a Luca Alinari

I had the pleasure and honour of meeting Luca in person and now, with great sorrow, I dedicate him this artwork, hoping to pay homage to him. I was inspired by one of his latest works “O17 Stubborn dog (An impossible colour, but)”. It is made of an interior design with stairs, columns, statues, paintings hang at the walls and a dog, sitting on a stool, a human figure who is probably petting him. All drawings have white borders, surrounded with sparks of vivid colours in small bits and a monochromatic bronze background. In my own painting (an outdoor picture- New York) I used, just like the Master, white for the border of all skyscraper, I kept an almost monochromatic background, I added small fragments of vivid colour around the borders and, finally, I added a staircase that leans on a skyscraper in the bottom right and the stubborn dog with his owner on the left. This way, I strongly reinforced the union between our two styles, bringing Alinari’s surreal poetry in my metropolis.
