Rose Monday (Rosenmontag) is the day in the German tradition where the beginning of Lent is celebrated. The Rosenmontag is especially celebrated in the so called "Hochburgers".

The celebrations usually consist of dressing up in fancy costumes, dancing, parading in parades and public events with allegorical floats. Sweets and tulips are thrown on the crowd.

In the world of tattooing, the black rose is meant to convey sadness or indicate a negative period of one's existence. In other words, the black rose can indicate a wound from the past still open in the soul and impossible to heal.

The black rose can also have very profound meanings such as change.

Technique: ink on synthetic leather and canvas. There are also materials used for the realization of the tattoo.
