Caravaggio – Christ on the Mount of Olives

The painting is a collage of fabrics and represents the digital synthesis of a surviving photograph of Caravaggio's Christ on the Mount of Olives. The canvas, along with 400 other works of art that belonged to the Kaiser Friedrich Museum, was burned in May 1945 following the arson that destroyed the armored tower Flakturm where these masterpieces were kept by the Nazis.
