The project triggers a reversal whereby the reason for the absence of a work becomes the work itself. The motivation consists of a short story, poised between reality and fiction, concerning a chain of catastrophic events: collapses, epidemics, assassinations wars, quarrels… the worst things happen but in the end these facts are often treated with such indifference as to border on laughter… From a practical point of view, the text mixes different sources of communication such as newspapers, social media, films, books, fairy tales, word of mouth; it aims to warn about the increasingly blurred boundary between reality and fiction. Working with forms of absence is also an opportunity to reflect on the potential and risks of an increasingly dematerialized future. Perhaps, the hypothesis of an imminent war makes us think that is necessary to put aside a certain attachment to things in order to see forms of material absence as a wealth.
From a completely different point of view, the project shows the process of creation. In fact, an artist spends much of his/her time hesitating, doubting, following multiple paths; it often happens that the artist unexpected finds himself/herself back at the starting point, or has some illuminations that turn out to be will-o'-the-wisps. In the end the artist thinks he has arrived nowhere; the artist also thinks of having only created a “nothingness”. That nothingness is an apparently empty space because it is instead full of tension, discomfort, desire, unpredictability, surprise, disappointment… the audio therefore gives life to a space that accompanies the observer to digress and fantasize, in other words to generate himself the work.
