The picture was made at the 2013 World Cycling Championships. The bike tracks are arranged symmetrically against a background that is half white and half black. In this way they create a double pole, a positive/negative effect. The vertical composition gives movement and speed to the elements. The lines converge upwards as if the two wheels, belonging to two cyclists, were competing to reach the finish line first.
