The painting is composed of three layers of canvas superimposed towards the inside and burned from the inside out.
On the first layer of canvas, on a bluish permanent violet background, a wriggling head of a person is depicted, with the burn resembling the shape of a person's shoulders and the lower part of the canvas features drips of yellow, orange, green and red; the second layer towards the inside is composed of a midnight blue background with orange, red and yellow drips; concluding inwards, the third layer has an umber green background and also features red, blue and yellow drips. Hidden by the three layers there is a light bulb, a symbol of life, of which only the light that illuminates the black background is visible.
The work represents a person worn out by a mental disorder and the various layers depict both the internal wear and tear and at the same time how disorders can cover the spark of life in a person to the point of suffocating it. Starting from the head depicted in a dynamic and confusing way which refers to the frenetic and tormented movement of the mind, continuing towards the inside of the layers (i.e. of the human soul) we have increasingly darker colors which are contrasted by the warm colors which want to symbolize emotions which drip away, while we have a constant presence on the various layers of anger and desperation represented by red. On the black background I represented how life, depicted by the light of the bulb, is suffocated by disturbance and what follows from it.
