Driadic Signal is an ongoing research project that began
during my artistic residency at the Biennale Olimpia
2025 in the Langhe. The project intertwines my video art
practice with the sound work of artist Paolo della Piana.
The experimental video explores a technique called
Phytography, which consists of directly imprinting
16mm film with organic materials — such as plants and
animal remains — through a simple chemical process.
The materials used emerge from encounters with
the territory and its community: each plant or natural
element, whether vegetal or animal, was imprinted
onto the film, transforming it into a kind of living map
of the relationships between individual, collective, and
environment. The result is an interconnected, hybrid DNA.
The video, generated by scanning the film, then becomes
the material that interacts with the optical synth of the
sound designer — an instrument capable of reading
images and translating colors and forms into sonic
modulations.The aim of the project, which will take the
shape of a performative video installation, is to create an
immersive performance — a dialogue between nature,
technology, and sound. The analog quality of film merges
with that of the synth, opening up infinite variables and
