"Elaborazione del lutto", is a series of four scanographies depicting one of my pet rats a few minutes after her death. She died at four, the last one to die.
Mourning, like death, are not topics of daily discussion. Geoffrey Gorer in his article "Pornography of death" explains how death replaced sex as the main taboo in the 20th century. To date, little has changed. Grief must be hidden from others. This series was born as a method of mourning and as a reminder of death. I bring an intimate moment to light, under everyone's eyes with the aim of normalizing a natural phase of life.
