The works entitled Hands of Parliament belong to a cycle of works begun in 2019 that focuses on the phenomenon of brawls in parliaments around the world.
The iconography, drawn from public-domain media sources, consistently depicts a large group of people compressed within an enclosed space, namely the Parliament, the institutional seat par excellence, a symbol of democracy and a representative body of the people. The scenes portrayed, paradoxical and emblematic, with a clear reference to the brutal imagery of Christian iconography, bear witness to the controversies of our time, to violent stances, and to the unpredictable instinctiveness of the human soul, which ultimately overwhelms reason.
