This work wants to convey the sense of violence that is perpetuated in order to oppress and eliminate a people or an ethnic group. It symbolizes the brutality of massacres and deportations, highlighting the attempt to erase histories, cultures and identities.
My BOOK OF MEMORY, conceptually and with great sadness, contains all the violence and massacres committed by men, against other men and I only indicate those recognized by the UN: 1209, genocide of the Cathars; 1500-1600, Black Holocaust (deportations of slaves from Africa); 1770, Australian Aborigines; 1776, North and South American Indians; 1904, genocide in Congo; 1904, Herero Wars; 1915, Armenian genocide; 1914, Greek Genocide; 1932, Ukrainian Genocide; 1939, Roma genocide; 1941-1945, Holocaust; 1975, Pol Pot in Cambodia; 1994, The Rwanda Genocide; ………. 2023 Palestine (not yet officially recognized by the UN, but already recognized as such by almost all international civil communities).
