The body remains sketchy, defined in the upper part and totally missing in the lower part, dragged towards an invisible background and close to vanishing into oblivion.
Even the only exception to this aseptic immobility given by the vibrant blue flowers that envelop the creature is only apparent: far from giving it a touch of lightness, they rather seem like a thick spider's web, a macabre shroud that envelops, suffocating.
And all around only empty stylized human figurines, floating and lost in a dark frame.
The reminder of that enormous black hole that has become the sea that gives the work its title is inevitable: the Mediterranean, a merciless tomb that swallows and hides thousands of anonymous faceless bodies.
