Divine wings. For my Il volo polimerico (Polymeric flight), I drew my inspiration from the colours of the angel in the Maestà di Ognissanti
by Giotto.
I used waste material for recycling, discharged sheets, transforming them into a piece of art. Plastic is a common material nowadays, we can’t make without it but at the same time it’s suffocating us. Nikola Tesla once said in an interview: “My objective is not to build flying machines (planes or missiles), but to teach human beings to recover the awareness of their own wings, those same wings, real and
visible, that human beings used to have”.
Wings represent physical and mental freedom.
Wings have always been very important in my life, because they represent my parents.
When my father passed away, I felt as if I had lost one of my wings, now that I have lost even my mother, I have no more wings
supporting me.
I’m slowly learning how to grow my own pair of wings.
