The project stems from the lack of information on my biological parents, who lived in Ethiopia.
The only significant group of documents i have about my family of origin is a small photo album that i recived a year after my arrival in Italy: i was six.
The images show my father and my mother posing in a photographic studio.
I was particularly struck by a portrait of my father in black and white colored with aniline.
I reproduced and enlarged that image many times, coloring the prints by hand.
The repetition of the work on the same photograph helps me not forget, in an attempt to act on time, block it, modify it, deceive it.
Work is meditative, spiritual activity, the subject i have chosen is for me an icon, with which i dialogue through time.
