“La Cura di Sè, piano piano” (The Care of Self, little by little ) it’s a collaboration between the artists Simone Bacco and Aura Monsalves. The work is reasoning around the problem of documenting a performance walk developed in 2020 by Bacco, entitled "La Cura di Sé" (The Care of Self ). Based on the story of the performance and the photographic documentation of it, Monsalves has modeled, through a video game creation program,
an island in which the original performance finds its potential infinite reactivation. In this interlude in which the dialogue takes place, the co-creative work materializes: the imaginary mixes with the real and the temporalities intersect. The installation consists of a cathode ray tube tv showing a played game by Bacco and playing a loop song of birds hypothetically present in the digital atmosphere. This rests on a soft carpet where the video game sky is printed. In addition, a speaker plays the story of the performance, which can be heard by bringing the ear close to it. The work aims to highlight
how a story can reconstruct images and reconstruct itself in new diffractions. It is also an attempt to confront the problem of presenting the documentation of a performance: in this work, the documentation becomes the material for the development of a new performance.
