A sheet of paper with a drawing on one surface, pressed between two sheets of plexiglass.
Variable installation - hung or floor-standing on a base that holds the sheet upright.
The work is part of the "l'acqua pesa" series, watercolors that explore current geopolitical divisions.
I found a crumpled map in the paper bin, dissolved it in water, and then reassembled it. All the pieces remaining in the water were pressed together and formed new islands. In the large voids, the riddling technique was used to recompose the drawing. Earth is earth; even without roots, we remain attached to it. The sheet of paper is pressed between two sheets of plexiglass so that both sides can be seen; the first side that appears is the back of the sheet; the map is intentionally upside down.
