From a residency in Pompeii, on the occasion of the Pompeii Street Festival 2023, the Colonna Tree is born – a site-specific intervention expressing awe and wonder for the history of Pompeii. In the lower part, a Roman-style decoration, featuring the reproduction of Pompeian red achieved through earth and oxides, pays homage to the culture of the Roman Empire. In the upper part, the faces of the plaster casts of Pompeii serve as a reminder of the tragic eruption of Mount Vesuvius, which literally wiped out the population. This event, so violent and yet so powerful, allowed for the preservation of these unique ruins in the world.
