M.A.D.R.E. is a sensitive sonic machine that transforms urban sound into an immersive experience. A dark, organic sphere accommodates the visitor’s head, cancelling vision and activating a condition of internal listening.
Environmental sounds, captured in real time by a microphone positioned within an urban context (such as Naples), are analyzed by a software system that detects parameters such as intensity, density, and frequency. These data feed a generative process that produces dynamic and autonomous sounds, determining timbres, harmonies, and variations in real time.
The work does not reproduce reality, but metabolizes it: urban sound becomes an ever-changing acoustic matter.
M.A.D.R.E. thus takes shape as an artificial organism in constant relation with its context, where sound, body, and machine converge into a shared perceptual system.
