Mania is a performance linked to The Sixth Chief, it's an analysis of make-up and the mask but with a more aggressive connotation.
In Mania I sit in front of the camera and while filming myself I put on and remove make up consecutively for as long as possible and without pauses.
I managed to do this for an hour and a quarter. The skin and especially the eyes immediately began to redden and burn.
Such a banal and everyday act become aggressive. Slow and hidden self-harm.
The make up becomes an absolutely non-trivial but restrictive obligation.
For years I have not been able to present myself in public without wearing makeup, as a result of this performance I am gradually managing to feel more confident in my own skin.
