NON SONO IO

NON SONO IO attempts to represent contemporaneity on various levels. From a technical point of view, the artist assembles various techniques, from informal material to action painting, from hyperrealist figurative art to decorative traits typical of the Viennese Secession. A recurring decorative theme is for instance the signature of the author, which contrasts with the title of the work: in the society of the spectacle everything is fiction and chaos of images and forms in a multiplicity that is difficult to control. The work is then clearly divided into two parts as in the oriental philosophy of Ying and Yang: the turbulence of matter and the pseudo-religious forms whereby extreme social behaviour becomes the object of a sacred image. This cross-shaped altar or temple of the contemporary seeks to order disorder through signs, traces in the plaster, giving meaning to what does not make sense, in the same way as Greek art.
