Archetypal forms of marble that symbolically represent simulacra. Images that recall archaic figures, symbolic weapons or tools. Bones represent an archetype, that is, the origin that lies within us, the supporting structure of our body, the foundations.
Like archetypes they are the fundamental structure, an element of stability and strength. In ancient times, once their main support purpose ceased, they were reused to create tools or objects. They transformed and thus continued to be present in other forms.
The bones project was born a long time ago, while I was crossing the Calcata forest I found numerous broken animal bones. Observing them white that emerged between the vegetation and the trees, I perceived their purity and their value as archetypes, it seemed that they were there to witness the passage of a past life, of an event that occurred. The end and the beginning of a new path. Subsequently, observing a fallen oak tree in the woods, the idea of combining marble with wooden trunks was born. The marble sculpture in this case contains the symbolic value of the bones, which in ancient times were reused to create totemic objects or figures. The analogy between bones and marble is due both to a chromatic association, but also to the fact that they are both composed of calcium carbonate, so between these two materials there is not only an aesthetic but also a chemical bond. The beauty of bones lies in their cleanliness and simplicity, which takes definitive shape through a long process (like marble) and have a protective, sensory-motor-sustaining function.
