Resto is a hexagonal shaped ash sculpture with an abstract anatomical shape placed on its surface.
From the ashes of a collective experience comes the raw material, the result of a purifying ritual that took place on the day of the dead, at Buco della luna, Carrara (MS).
Thus, the REST as a residue conquers the meaning of a verb and becomes REMAINANCE,
symbol of time, and of what remains of it.¬
The sculpture is made of compressed ash in a silicone rubber mould, prepared in pieces starting from a plaster sculpture. Without the aid of any binder, this is "unshaped", destined to fall apart over time.
