Rialzarsi

The work pays homage to the strength and courage of women and girls all over the world who humbly and peacefully struggle against injustice and abuse of power, violence and repression. A large oil on canvas; a female figure (the artist's model who often posed for him for the creation of various works, a Greek friend, Sofia Stampouli), who in the work is bent but not kneeling, is suffering but not defeated. In the bent feet and in the well-finished and powerful hands, in the tired but tenacious face one feels the rebirth, the resilience and the human impulse of revenge and greatness.
