In this work, Giulio Patrizi continues his exploration of the archetypal forms of classical architecture through a two-dimensional language constructed through the juxtaposition of colored wooden elements, recalling the tradition of inlay work. Columns and capitals emerge as essential geometric structures, transforming architecture into a visual construct of rhythm, planes, and chromatic fields.
The ancient thus becomes a formal vocabulary, a grammar of signs that spans time and recomposes itself in the contemporary.
"Through the reduction of form and the modular construction of the surface, Patrizi transforms the classical ruin into a visual device. Architecture is no longer a space to be inhabited, but a memory to be traversed: a field of signs in which the past survives as the silent structure of the image."
