Mirko Sperlonga's photographic project, "Self anger", comes into visceral contact with the ego, the psyche and their interdependence. The ego is what separates, divides and seeks conflict in order to exist, explains Eckhart Tolle, it is the pain-body that can take the form of all negative emotions and painful situations, taking over the entire existence of the individual. All this happens to the detriment of the psyche which, helpless, lets itself be manipulated to the point of devastation. Becoming aware of this condition allows the disintegration of the ego, but this involves an introspective journey that follows the five stages of mourning: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and, finally, acceptance.
