Drainage grate, glazed ceramic, wheels
A drainage grate comes into contact with the ceramic it supports. Its role is that of an "active threshold," while still maintaining its original function of promoting the gradual drying of a space. The stakes involved are the distortion leading to extreme degradation that would result in desertification. Presumably, the ceramic element would be implicated in such a risky process.
The installation is part of a new series of sculptures. The reflection revolves around the genetic alterations caused by humans to certain living organisms, but also on the potential alterations generated by artificial intelligences capable of reproducing manipulable false clones through algorithms.
