The absolute protagonists of the project are the entirely hand-sewn wetsuits. The lightness of tulle recalls the great fragility of insect ecdyses, from which I draw inspiration, containers subject to the cyclical temporality of nature, which leads us to change shape in search of continuous renewal.
The moult becomes a random and dreamy form that requires a physical body to consolidate itself in space, creating a relationship of belonging and mutual dependence on nature.
Exoskeletons with an organic value and a specific temporal dimension.
As with insects, which cyclically shed these because they have become too small compared to their now grown bodies, they have their moment of existence.
Clothes that act as skin-self, mediators between us and the world, which become banners of identity, and which are worn and acted in the landscape by performers. The place where the video is set, the Salt Pans of Gozo, was chosen for its immediate power: a point of intersection and contact between different elements, it becomes a scenario in which the human figure ends up getting lost, creating a state of fusion between the self and the world.
