They run, they fall, they fly, they stumble and they lift. Then they slip in silence, and they run again.
They are suspended scenes. Ghosts of the past. Figures out of time and space, halfway between dream and vision. Each with a story to tell. Each with something to teach.
They tell us of their anguish, of the fears and tears shed for someone too soon torn from their arms, but also of moments of joy and serenity, where a caress or a smile are what you can wish for. And in doing so they remind us of the importance of memory and how it is fundamental to understanding the present. Of that time when they were miraculously saved from a bomb too close or when he finally managed to snatch that kiss so dreamed. And in seeing all this, we suffer and rejoice with them. All of a sudden, those living figures become simple scraps of old photos again. The images fade, turning gray.
So everything flows as before, with the usual frenzy that drags us to the equal of a river in flood, taking away all the ghosts.
The series of collages "Sospesi" tells the life of people, touching all the various aspects.
Through the abstraction of the scene and the cancellation of the background that is tinged with an acid yellow color, the figures, cut out of photographs, are raised from their context and placed in a time out of time that makes them eternal. Thus, overcoming the limits of time and space, live in harmony fragments of the past with scenes belonging to our time, in a flattening perception that makes us perceive those figures and their stories more alive than ever.
