In a world caught in the grip of a global pandemic, in which the number of deaths is increasing day by day, in which the way of conceiving life and interpersonal relationships has undergone an unimaginable change, it is perhaps not the will to resist man to stand proud from the rubble of a deconstructed life?
The watchword therefore: resistance, resistance to rebuild, to restructure.

I made my manifesto of art as resistance, so I dedicated my latest collection to an Italy that resists, also using the backs of advertising posters collected during the lockdown, witnesses of the void that enveloped the cities.

The main monuments and views of various Italian cities emerge disruptive from a concrete that tries to suffocate them and which represents, in this particular historical moment, the invisible enemy and fear.
They emerge, because they resist.
I conclude with a quote that inspired me for this work: "Italy with open eyes in the sad night,
Long live Italy, the Italy that resists. "
- Viva l'Italia, Francesco De Gregori

Decollage, collage, fusions and spatula strokes of cement on paper.
* Fusion: transfer of ink from one sheet to another using solvents.
