Vortex – Maldideserto
Metal print
100 × 100 cm
2025
Limited edition of 10
Maldideserto still belongs to the phase of rupture, exploring a specific and profound moment: when feelings become arid, when emotional nourishment disappears and love turns into an inhospitable territory. It is a time of emotional dehydration, disorientation, and fragmented searching for what once was.
The vortex appears as a portal. Initially intense and saturated colors evoke heat, tension, and the last remnants of passion. As the gaze moves through the center, tones gradually fade, emptying into a sparse and silent expanse. Beyond the vortex, everything becomes essential, stripped, desert-like.
The desert is not merely a landscape, but an inner condition. It is the place of feeling lost, deprived of reference points, yet still moving forward. Within this mental space, memories surface as intermittent oases — emotional mirages to cling to in order not to be completely lost.
The artwork is developed through a hybrid process combining the artist’s vision and artificial intelligence, involving multiple stages, different software, and extensive experimentation. AI is used as a tool of emotional translation, guided by the artist’s mental image toward a controlled and coherent form.
Through an integrated QR code, the artwork expands into a dynamic dimension. In the generative video, the viewer enters the vortex and finds themselves immersed in a desert landscape, evoking a cinematic — almost science-fiction — atmosphere reminiscent of Star Wars, or simply an absolute desert. A space without emotional coordinates, where silence dominates and the horizon continuously recedes.
Maldideserto portrays the moment when love no longer hurts sharply, but slowly erodes. It is the phase in which one continues to search — even within emptiness — for a trace, a sign, a memory capable of offering direction.
