Joe Storm was born in Sicily in 1992 and after a wild adolescence as a Bad Boy he moved to Milan to study Visual Arts at the Brera Academy, graduating with a thesis entitled Fun Art with full marks. He was subsequently selected by the artistic residency of the 18th Street Arts Center in Los Angeles where he opened his first studio and wrote the Lebowski Manifesto. Using unconventional materials he contrasts high and popular culture through gestures of irreverence, rebellion and irony. He produces works in a variety of mediums such as painting, photography, video, sculpture and installation. He has stated that his art could be characterized as Ignorant Existentialism and in interviews he has often referred to himself as a Fictional Character.
