My name is Tatjana Zonca and I am an German-Italian artist living currently in Italy. My family travelled a lot and we always lived surrounded by nature, never in big cities. I feel this had a huge impact on my connection to nature and my surroundings in general.
As an air sign, I am very curious and creative and love to explore new things in life. For me art is a reflection of what is surrounding me, the world I am living in and the way I am telling it in my prints. My work is aiming to translate a personal vision of a lived moment or a felt atmosphere from everyday life. Inspiration is taken from travels and associated visuals that include people, nature and architecture that influence my works. Especially, the contact with nature has always been very important to me, it is an infinite source of inspiration in which we can experience peace and serenity. Feeling nature as a living organism of which we are part, we are able to gain refuge, safety and security.
My artworks revolve around digital photo art combined with drawn patterns, colour and collage-effects which leads to a mixed media technique. Harnessing the four colour screenprinting process permits me to gain a major depth from its different colour levels and creates a three-dimensional feeling to the artworks made. The vibrant colour levels are visibly perceived as they generate a touchable relief. One colour is printed at a time, in total four screens are used to produce my multi-colour layered serigraphies on paper. I am using fine mesh stretched screens as my design requires a higher and more delicate degree of details.
It is important to me, giving each print of a series an emphasis and a singular character. In fact the limited print editions are all unique pieces that distinguish in small colour variations, that the viewer experiences by a slightly different outcome.
Driven by pure emotions, these modern contemporary screenprints are handmade with care in my Milan based print studio.
