Rings and chain-like loops toggle between ornament and restraint, and the closed, mask-like visage translates my personal lineage into a broader meditation on social and gender conditionings. She wears a headpiece reminiscent of the Venetian bricole , a system of wooden poles bound by chains, used to anchor boats in the lagoon.
