Dermatoglifi

The imprint in the sense of genetic mapping, in the case of fingerprints, constitutes the only truly immutable trace of our individuality. Irrepeatable and eternal, it does not change over time and therefore represents a kind of immortality, as it remains unchanged. The marks created by the furrows and epidermal ridges are called dermatoglyphs and are used for identifications.
Therefore, conceptually they are closely linked to a person's identity and represent an indelible trace that inscribes a sort of identity map.

The work Dermatoglyphs was conceived as an unfolding of the skin, a kind of surface, of unrolled parchment that reveals its specific epidermal ridges, indelible graffiti-coloured marks.
