The project relates the naked body and the passing of time through a natural grammar, through biological punctuation, the texture of a leaf.
The bulimia of images that surround us and produce the perception of false time that is eternally present.
In Fontcuberta's essay, "the fury of images", it is underlined how the image no longer functions as a portal to open the space of a memory but becomes usable only in the present and is then almost forgotten.
Our body, in "post photography" is forced into an eternal present, the body-image-time relationship is denied or rather submerged.
The “Materia Viva” project attempts to bring this theme back to the centre, representing photos of naked bodies that time itself will alter by affecting the tissues of the leaf.
A trans-photographic project that is linked to the experience of Italian informal art in which artists experiment with the ability to express themselves through matter by introducing new materials (wood, plastic, jute, metals).
