The wounds leave behind deep scars. There's no remedy for that. The past, pain, trauma, illness are now indelible residual signs. Sculpt the wood until it cries, fold the iron until it crumbles. The ashes, temporary and decaying, of a "magic" ritual, a last attempt at purification.
