Shelter presents insect houses—structures conceived as devices of hospitality—intervened by the presence of plastic insects. Originally designed to host life, these structures are occupied by their own industrial replicas. This substitution reveals a silent violence: the living is replaced by its simulacrum.
The artificial bodies do not merely occupy the space; they render it unusable. The refuge ceases to fulfill its function and becomes a blocked structure.
The work addresses occupation, displacement, and exclusion—not through representation, but through the direct alteration of a system of care. What was intended to shelter life is transformed into an inaccessible space.
