MEDIA: foam rubber, acrylic spray

There is a different reality for each perceived reality, each gaze create a different version of the same object / situation.
The fascinating aesthetic of concrete, in all the forms architecture has used it, especially when its solid structure is visible from outside and its materic surface becomes the final finishing without anything else to be added, but also its physical composition similar to a compound of infinite mirrors, like projections / external readings of the same substance crystallized in it, express the contrast with a so fragile and unstable subject, as the real material used is.

Common daily objects in a distorted and misleading perception experience, read from a subjective perspective and therefore different each time.

Cement sculptures made of foam rubber.
Weight labels which, on the contrary of what social labels usually do, are marks of weight lability: perceived differently by each gaze.
Conceived as temporary installations because of their unstable materials and their open meaning, unrepeatable encounters as human interactions can be.

A reflection on weight as the attribution of different meaning, value or gravity to situations, words and actions by each human being. But also as burdens each person carries into each moment of life transforming that moment in a unique personal event. Weight of past experiences imprinted in our mental DNA can simply interfere on nuances of our next movement, or can freeze what comes next. Who recognize and understands the other person's "weights" helps in making them lighter, or the contrary.
The work examines how these internal "weights" interfere with the construction of identity and their role in the “person” presented to society. Furthermore, it explores their impact on interpersonal dynamics and how the environment may alleviate or exacerbate these psychological loads. Individuals exist as a dual projection of self-perception and external observation, the research seeks to render the invisible world of perception into a visible, tangible form.

At one point the research took an evolutive direction: the objects were put into the hands of other people so they could be experience by them, freely or guided, the result is a work in progress group of micro performances. Each of them reveals something new.
Performers in the frames: Michela Priuli, Nazareno Pocapaglia.
